Keyboard Shortcuts and Useful Functions

Overview

The Order Manager has some built-in key combination shortcuts to perform some routine functions. Below is a chart of the shortcuts and the location within the program where they can be used. Be aware that some key combinations perform very different functions on different screens or in different versions of the program, so please take note of the location and version information that is provided in the chart.

Online Help:  Select a control on any form through out the program.  Click F1, a browser window will open and take you directly to the appropriate Knowledge Base article to help you with the problem.

CTRL+Shift+B

Maintenance Menu

Break Mode:  Toggles "Break Mode" on and off.  This function is crucial for debugging an error.  "Break Mode" allows the code to stop at the exact line of code that is causing an error instead of jumping to an error trap.

Connection Information:  Shows "Connection Information".  Useful if you are uncertain of the exact location and name of your data file, new orders and data archives folders, custom reports database, and more.

Open Data File:  Instantly closes the Order Manager and opens your store's data file. Note: This shortcut may not work for some versions of MS Access. It also does not apply to SQL data files.

Fixup (The Magic Function!):  Compacts your Data File, unregisters and re-registers all DLL's and ActiveX controls, delete's bad references, rebuilds all indexes, deletes the INI file, recompiles the program and closes the Order Manager to be restarted.
Use this if you are experiencing unexplainable problems with references, indexes or general database problems.

Important Note: Versions 4.400, 4.401 and 4.402 - Before using this function, un-check the Unique check box from the Customers>Phone row in the Indexes table. PERFORM THIS TASK WITH CAUTION; MAKE SURE YOU UN-CHECK THE CORRECT check box. For assistance, contact Stone Edge Technologies Technical Support at (610) 994-3699.

Re-build Indexes: Must have all other users out of the program.

Clear Links:  Clears all links in the program file that are linked from external tables.  Restores linked tables back to the program defaults.  Use if experiencing inconsistent data or if you have moved or reinstalled the Order Manager.  Restart the Program after using.

Compile and Save All Modules:  Compiles the program without entering the Visual Basic Editor.

Stack Controller Status:  Tells you the status of the "Stack Controller".  Great when you can't figure out why the Order Status System is not updating!

Check Tables:  Checks all of your tables for accuracy and correctness.  This function will add any missing tables and fields to your data files as needed.

Set Taxable:  Used to set ALL products to either taxable or non-taxable.  You will be prompted to confirm your choices before any changes are made.

Manual Orders, Custom Fields tab

Zip And Send:  This function is intended to be used when you need to deliver your data file to Stone Edge for troubleshooting.  This will copy your data, compact it, remove all credit card information, then Zip the file and email it to Stone Edge Tech Support.
