Order Status Updates

Real-time order status information for your Website: Improve customer service and reduce "where's my order?" phone calls with the Stone Edge Order Status System!

The Order Status System lets your customers see detailed up-to-the-minute information about their orders. While some shopping carts accept limited order status and tracking data from the Order Manager, none of them will take information about orders that did not originate in that cart, such as mail and phone orders, point-of-sale orders, etc.   The Stone Edge Order Status System gives you one place where all of your customers can check the status for all of their orders, regardless of where they were placed!

With the Stone Edge Order Status System you can easily:

  • Add a new level of sophistication to your Website.
  • Improve your customer service.
  • Save time and money by reducing your “Where’s my order?” telephone calls.

Here’s how it works:

The Order Manager has about 30 events that the Order Status System can track, such as Order Received, Ship Date Entered, Tracking Number Imported, etc. About half of those events affect the entire order, and the others are for each individual line item. You decide which events to track and the text label to use for each event.

Whenever a status event occurs, the Order Manager immediately sends that information to our servers.

On your Website, you create a simple HTML form where your customer can enter their order number and their email address or Zipcode. You can also include clickable status links in the emails that the Order Manager sends to your customers. Our server then responds with up-to-the-minute status information about that order. The response can either be a Web page that includes your HTML header and footer so it has the “look and feel” of your Website, or it can be an XML feed that your Web page can parse out and display any way you want. If any tracking numbers have been entered or imported into the Order Manager for the order, they can appear as hyperlinks to UPS, USPS, FEDEX or other shippers’ order tracking pages.
