Stone Edge Technologies’ Order Management System Ranks Near Top Among Internet Retailer™ Top 500 Users
Stone Edge Order Manager is Third Most Popular Off-The-Shelf System Used By America’s Top Online Retailers
BLUE BELL, Pa.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Stone Edge Technologies, Inc. today announced that its popular order management system (OMS), the Stone Edge Order Manager, has been identified as a top choice among America’s largest online retailers, as ranked by the 2007 edition of the Internet Retailer™ Top 500 Guide.
The Stone Edge Order Manager finished immediately behind some of the industry’s best known OMS solutions. Of the 167 Top 500 merchants who listed the OMS that they use, the top three were Escalate Retail with 34, GSI Commerce with 17, and the Stone Edge Order Manager with 13 users. The majority of the 60 other systems listed had only one or two users in the Top 500, and none had more than 9. The 13 Order Manager users accounted for $207 million in retail revenues in 2006.
“Although our primary market is still smaller retailers, our goal has always been to help those companies grow,” said Barney Stone, president of Stone Edge Technologies. “Our strong presence in the Internet Retailer Top 500 shows that our technology is sound, and that the upgrade path we offer can support the higher volumes and ERP integration requirements of larger firms. The Order Manager also sells for a small fraction of the cost of most of the other systems used by the Top 500, which makes it ideal for small, growing companies.”
The Stone Edge Order Manager, which began seven years ago as a simple program for importing orders and printing invoices and packing slips, has grown into a wide-ranging tool for e-commerce business management. It is currently used by over 1,500 merchants to automate and streamline their operations. More than 50 of those merchants have upgraded to the Order Manager’s Enterprise Version, which uses Microsoft SQL Server for its data storage. The Enterprise Version is designed for companies with larger volumes and staffs, and with the need to integrate their Order Manager data with other management systems.
Internet Retailer is the leading information provider for the e-retailing industry. Its Top 500 Guide contains comparative data on the leaders of web-based retailing, who account for nearly two-thirds of $135-billion e-retailing industry in the U.S. The Top 500 Guide also provides profiles on each of America’s 500 biggest web merchants—the trendsetters who have made e-tailing the fastest growing segment of the nation’s retailing.
Version 5 Available
The newest Order Manager edition, Version 5, includes a new integrated POS system that acts as a virtual cash register for merchants with “brick and mortar” stores. The POS system pulls products from the same inventory the program uses for Internet and phone sales, and can automatically update the quantity-on-hand in some Web stores when retail sales are made. It is included in the Order Manager’s “Plus POS” and Enterprise versions.
Other new features in Stone Edge’s Order Manager Version 5 include support for more shopping cart systems, including CommerceV3, 3DCart, Modular Merchant, eBay ProStores and PDG Cart, and additional credit card gateways, including CyberSource, LinkPoint and QuickBooks Merchant Services. There is also an enhanced RMA system for managing returns and exchanges, and numerous improvements in the “Manual Orders” screen where phone, fax and mail orders are entered.
Order Manager Version Five is currently available from www.stoneedge.com. Prices begin at $1,500 for the Standard Version, including five workstation licenses and extended support. The Enterprise Version sells for $6,000, which includes ten workstation licenses and a year of support and updates.
