Stone Edge Order Manager Users Among 2009 Internet Retailer Top 500
Eleven companies that use the Stone Edge Order Manager are included in this year’s Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide to the largest retail Web sites. Stone Edge offers affordable alternative to high-priced order management systems.
Plymouth Meeting, PA, May 28, 2009 — Once again this year Stone Edge Order Manager users have a significant presence in Internet Retailer’s list of the Top 500 Internet Merchants. Ranging from Optics Planet at number 197 to Ergo in Demand at number 497, eleven Stone Edge users made this year’s list. As you might expect, all of them are using the Enterprise Version of the Order Manager, with the increased capacity, stability and integration capabilities that come with being on a Microsoft SQL Server platform.
The Top 500 list, which Internet Retailer publishes once a year, includes each merchant’s responses about which systems they use for CRM, order management, etc. Although most of the Top 500 list did not list an off-the-shelf order management system, almost 200 did, listing 57 different systems that they use. Thirty nine of those systems have only one user in the list. Twelve have two to five users, and four have six to ten users. Only four order management systems have more than ten users in the list, including Escalate Retail with 38, GSI Commerce with 29, CommercialWare with 12 and Stone Edge Technologies, Inc. with 11.
“That puts us in some pretty good company,” said Barney Stone, president of Stone Edge Technologies, Inc., who pointed out that typical pricing for Escalate Retail and CommercialWare is in the $250,000 to $500,000 range, versus $6,000 for the Enterprise Version of the Stone Edge Order Manager. “It shows that you don’t need to spend $250,000 to get a well designed and useful suite of business tools. We offer all the functionality that most merchants need at a fraction of the price of our upscale competitors, along with solid service and continual product development.”
“It’s similar to the strategy employed by a lot of our users,” Stone continued, “most of which have smaller companies that ship 10 to 500 orders per day. Our software helps them compete with the big guys in their markets, and some of them have grown to where they are shipping 4,000 to 5,000 orders per day and have joined the Top 500 list.”
“Our goal,” Stone says, “is to provide big company capabilities to small, growing companies at a price that virtually any Web merchant can afford.”
