This article pertains to the Store Setup Wizard introduced in the Order Manager version 5.804. For information on the Store Setup Wizard found in the Order Manager, versions 5.803 and lower, see Store Setup Wizard 5.803 and lower.
There are four pages in the Shipping section of the Setup Wizard:
Configure the Shipping Systems You Want to Use
Custom Carriers and Text File Export Templates
Select and Name Shipping Methods
Other Settings for Shipping
This is the first screen in the Shipping section of the setup wizard. Choose the shipping system(s) that you will use with the Order Manager. By default, the Order Manager's built-in shipping system is selected For UPS & FedEx shipping, and Order Manager w/Endicia Dazzle is selected For USPS shipping. (If you only use UPS or FedEx, or only use USPS, simply leave the default setting for the other shipping option.) For information about shipping systems and printing shipping labels with the Order Manager, see the article, Printing Shipping Labels.

Next, select the appropriate button to setup your shipping system in the Order Manager. Each button opens another setup wizard or window that will take you through the setup process for that particular shipping system.
The UPS Online Tools Setup Wizard and the FedEx Ship Manager Direct Setup Wizard buttons open adjunct setup wizards that walk you through the shipping configuration process.
The Configure Endicia Dazzle for USPS button opens a separate page for configuring Endicia Dazzle, with typical user settings selected by default. Most users will not need to change the default settings on this screen. When you are finished on this page, click OK to return to page 1 of the Shipping section of the Order Manager Setup Wizard.
The Create System DSN/ODBC Connection button is used to configure third-party shipping software such as UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, or DHL EasyShip.
For expanded shipping setup information, please see the full Knowledge Base article for your shipping system:
The second screen in the Shipping section of the Setup Wizard is where you set custom shipping carriers and shipping methods (the major carriers, UPS, FedEx, USPS, and DHL are pre-set for you). It is also where you can create Shipping Export Templates for exporting shipping data into shipping programs without ODBC connection capability (this is NOT typical and most users do not use this function).

Shippers & their Shipping Methods Button
The Shippers & their Shipping Methods button opens the Shippers & Shipping Methods screen. At the top of the screen you have the Carriers and Shipper's Methods boxes. Here you can configure custom shipping carriers and methods. The official shipping method names used by the four major carriers, UPS, FedEx, USPS, and DHL, are already pre-set for you. If you're using one or more of the major carriers, you don't need to make any changes here.

The Tracking Number Email Template drop-down list is where you select a template for sending tracking number emails to customers. You can select templates per carrier or one template for all carriers.
To select a template:
To set a template per carrier, select a carrier from the Carriers list box. To set the template for all carriers, do not select a Carrier from the drop-down list.
Click the arrow on the Tracking Number Email Template drop-down list and select one of the two default tracking number templates that are pre-loaded into the drop-down list:
HTML Tracking Numbers Latest - This email will display only the newest tracking number on the order (in the event the order is split into multiple shipments).
HTML Tracking Numbers All - This email will display all the tracking numbers for an order (in the event the order is split into multiple shipments).
Note: These are basic templates that you can edit later (from the View Orders screen) when you are more familiar with the program. You can also create your own email templates. See the article, Email Template Editor for more information.
The major shipping carriers use standard "prefixes," (and sometimes suffixes) in front (and behind) a tracking number that enables access to that carrier's tracking web pages. When sending tracking numbers to your customers in an email, the Order Manager automatically adds the necessary prefixes (and suffixes, if applicable) to the tracking numbers generated by your shipping carrier, so users can click the link and access the carrier's tracking web pages. The Track Button Prefix and Track Button Suffix fields are pre-set with the necessary prefixes for FedEx, UPS, and USPS tracking numbers (these carriers currently do not use suffixes), therefore, you do not need to enter anything in these fields.
Note: Shipping carriers do occasionally change their links to their tracking web pages. If you need to change a carrier's prefix or suffix, see the Knowledge Base article, How to Change Tracking Links for more information.
Shipping Export Templates Button

Unless you need to create Shipping Export Templates for exporting shipping data into shipping programs without ODBC connection capability (this is NOT typical and most users do not use this function), you do not need to select the Shipping Export Templates button and do any setup. For more information, see Shipping Export Templates.
On this screen of the Setup Wizard, you "map" the carrier's official shipping method name (Carrier's Name), which is pre-loaded into the Order Manager, to the name that you use in your Web store for the exact same shipping method, e.g., map "UPS Ground" in the Order Manager to "Ground" in your Web store.

To map your shipping method names to those in the Order Manager for each carrier:
Click a carrier button. (Use Other for DHL or other carriers.)
The carrier's shipping methods populate the lower box on the screen.
Scroll through the list and check Use This Method for all the shipping methods you use in your Web store(s).
In the Your Name field, type the name used in your Web store.
Another way of completing this form would be to click Select All to check the Use This Method box for every shipping method in the list. The Your Name field will be automatically populated with the carrier's "official" shipping method name, but it can be over-typed with the method(s) used by your shopping cart(s).

It is possible to create multiple shipping methods in the Order Manager that relate to a single carrier's shipping method by clicking the + button next to the shipping method that is to be duplicated. For instance, click the + button next to 2nd Day Air which has the internal shipping method name of UPS 2nd Day Air. A second instance of 2nd Day Air is created immediately below the first one. Change the name in the Your Name field to correspond to another shipping method used by a shopping cart. This is useful for merchants that have more than one shopping cart type which may have different shipping method names defined for the same carrier shipping method.

To clear all shipping method selections, click the Clear All button under UPS Shipping Methods, in this example.
If you want the Order Manager to use Real-Time Rates, check the designated box for each shipping method. Click Set All to check the boxes for all shipping methods and Clear All to un-check all boxes.
When you've mapped all your shipping methods, you can move onto the next page of the Shipping Setup Wizard.
On this screen you determine how you want to calculate shipping for Manual and POS (if applicable) orders and how you want to determine "expected" or "actual" ship dates. The options Calculate shipping charges for Manual and POS orders and Set Actual Ship Date after importing tracking numbers are pre-selected by default based on typical user preferences. Read on to determine if you want to leave the default settings or modify them according to your preferences.

When the Calculate shipping charges for Manual and POS orders is selected, the Order Manager will automatically calculate shipping charges for Manual and POS orders according to a Shipping Calculation Type that you have selected. To set this up, click the Set Shipping Rates button to open the Shipping Configuration and Rates screen where you can select your Shipping Calculation Type. See the article, Shipping Configuration and Rates for instructions on completing the Shipping Configuration and Rates screen.
If the Calculate shipping charges for Manual and POS orders box is NOT selected, you will manually enter shipping charges for your Manual and POS orders.
The Set Actual Ship Date after importing tracking numbers is selected by default because users typically determine an order ship date once they have a tracking number. You can leave this option selected OR choose the Set Actual Ship Date and enter the number of days to add to the current date. (Do not choose both.)
If you want to set an Expected Ship Date, check the box and enter the number of days to add to the current date.
When you are finished with this page, click the next arrow at the bottom
of the screen
to proceed to
the next section.
