Follow these directions if you are running the Order Manager Version 5.9 or higher. If you're running the Order Manager version 5.612 or lower see Setting Up a Blackthorne Cart (OM 5.612 and lower).
To use Blackthorne Pro (BT) to import your orders from eBay, you must install the program on your workstation before you can setup your eBay shopping cart in the Order Manager. Follow the installation documentation that is provided by eBay when the Blackthorne Pro software is purchased from them. (Note: The Order Manager does not support Blackthorne Basic.) Just be sure that BT is installed in a shared folder where each computer that is running the Order Manager can access it. Consequently, you only have to install it once. After you install BT, follow the directions below to configure the shopping cart in the Order Manager and begin importing orders.
Open the Shopping Carts dialog box one of three ways:
Go to Quick Clicks>Create/Edit Shopping Cart.
Go to Main Menu>Maintenance Menu>Cart Functions>Create/Edit Shopping Cart.
Go to Main Menu>Maintenance Menu>Setup Functions>Store Setup Wizard>Shopping Carts tab.
Click Add Cart.
Enter the store name in the Store Name field. Note: If you are licensed to use multiple shopping cart types, you should enter a unique store name for each one to help you distinguish between them.
Select eBay from the Cart Type drop down list. Note: If you are licensed to use only one shopping cart type, you will not see a drop down list in the Cart Type field.
In the eBay User ID field, enter the ID you use to log into your eBay store account.
Click Setup Connection. A message box opens: Have you converted your Blackthorne data file to run from SQL Server?
If you click Yes, the Select Store : From opens. Select the database from the list. The ODBC connection string will appear in the Blackthorne Database field.
If you click No, browse to the access database, ideally located in a shared location. Click OK. The path will appear in the Blackthorne Database field.

Click Save.
Click eBay Functions. The Configure Blackthorne Data Exchange window opens.

In the Select Your Blackthorne Cart box at the top of the form, choose (double-click) a cart.
Choose a Blackthorne status (or statuses) in which orders are to be imported into Order Manager. (Payment Cleared is recommended.)
Choose an order status (or statuses) at which status information will be sent back to Blackthorne in the Order Manager statuses to trigger export back to Blackthorne section of the screen.
Optionally, select any of the check boxes in the When Importing section.
In the Export to Blackthorne box, choose how/when order status changes will be sent back to Blackthorne:
Manually Only (status updates are only sent when the Export Now button is clicked).
Manually and Immediately (status updates can be sent by clicking the Export Now button or automatically when an order's status is changed to the one of the designated trigger statuses in step 11).
Note: The Blackthorne application must be closed in order for the Order Manager to successfully send status updates back to Blackthorne.
From the When exporting, set Blackthorne status to: drop-down list, choose the status that the order should be set to in Blackthorne.
Note: Due to the nature of the data exchange between Order Manager and Blackthorne, when the Order Manager triggers a status update in Blackthorne, it does not automatically trigger a status update to be sent from Blackthorne to eBbay. One of our customers (tekgems) posted a work around in our forum that might be of interest.
Click Save Changes, and then click Close.
Go to the Order Status tab in the Store Setup Wizard. (Main Menu>Maintenance Menu>Setup Functions>Store Setup Wizard)
Make sure that the Use Status Updates check box is selected (checked) on the Order Status tab (V5.612 and lower) or Order Status System link (V5.9 and above).
If no status events appear in the window pictured below (second page of Order Status System link in the V5.9+ Store Setup Wizard or via the Status Events tab of the V5.612- Setup Wizard), click the Load Default Status Events button. If you have already setup status events for other carts, skip this step.
Click Save and Exit to exit the Store Setup Wizard.
Go to Main Menu> Maintenance Menu> Set System Parameters> Go.
Click the PC & Cart Based Parameters button to open the Special System Parameters screen.
Click the Cart ID radio button and select the eBay/Blackthorne cart from the Shopping Carts list.
Select the Program group in the Parameter Group list.
Click on the UseGenericStatusUpdates entry in the Parameters In Selected Group window.
Click the False
radio button in the Parameter Value section of the screen and click
the Save button.
The primary function of the export routine is to update the eBay Status based on the Order Manager’s order status hitting a predefined value as set in the Status Events system (e.g., Order Manager's status is now “Pending Shipment” so change Blackthorne's order status to “Awaiting Shipment”).
In addition, when possible and when present, the following values may also be updated:
Tracking carrier
Tracking number
Shipping cost
These secondary updates are dependent on the following information being available in the Order Manager order at the time the status update is being sent:
The existence of a tracking number
A nonzero cost existing on at least one shipment for the order.
Carrier information for the shipment. Also, the current design of the status update feature with Blackthorne only evaluates the most recent shipment for export to Blackthorne, as Blackthorne only supports one shipment per order.
