Setting Up a PDG Commerce Cart

Overview

The built-in integration between PDG and Stone Edge Order Manager requires that the merchant has a PDG Commerce cart license rather than the PDG Shopping Cart or PDG Commerce Lite licenses. If the merchant has the latter, they can upgrade to PDG Commerce by contacting the vendor or going to their site to purchase the upgrade.

   

The Order Manager does not import orders directly from a PDG Commerce cart. After orders come into the PDG Commerce cart, they are hosted on a Stone Edge Technologies server, and then the Order Manager imports those orders from the server. Therefore, prior to setting up a PDG Commerce shopping cart in the Order Manager, you must first configure your PDG Commerce cart to post order data to the Stone Edge server.

Setting Up the Shopping Cart to Communicate with Server

  1. Refer to the email you received from Stone Edge Technologies when you purchased the Order Manager with a PDG Commerce cart license and order hosting. It will contain your User Name, Password and Store Code to access the Stone Edge order hosting server.

  2. In your PDG Commerce Cart Administration area, click Order Settings (on the left navigation bar), and then Stone Edge Settings (button near top).

  3. Enter your Stone Edge order hosting User Name, Password, and Store Code and click Save. After entering and saving the data, click Make Changes Live. (This will update the store with the current settings and begin transmitting orders to StoneEdge as they are placed.)

 

Setting Up the Shopping Cart in the Order Manager

  1. In the Order Manager, go to the Shopping Carts screen. You can access it from one of three ways:

    1. Quick Clicks> Setup Wizard> Shopping Carts tab> Create and Edit Shopping Carts button

    2. Main Menu> Maintenance Menu> Cart Functions tab> Create/Edit Shopping Carts option

    3. Main Menu> Maintenance Menu> Setup Functions tab> Store Setup Wizard> Shopping Carts tab> Create and Edit Shopping Carts button

  2. The Shopping Carts dialog box opens. Click Add Cart.

  3. In the Store Name field, enter a name you want to use for this shopping cart. This name is for use in the Order Manager only.

  4. Select PDGCart from the Cart Type drop-down list. If the user is only licensed for one shopping cart type, the Cart Type drop-down box will not be visible. (The merchant must have a PDG Commerce cart license, although the Order Manager name in the drop-down simply states PDGCart.)

  5. In the Cart ID/User Name field, enter the User Name that you received via email from Stone Edge Technologies (the same user name that you plugged into the Stone Edge Settings area of your PDG Commerce Cart Administration in Step 3 of the first section).

  6. In the Cart Password field, enter the Password that you received via email from Stone Edge Technologies (the same password that you plugged into the Stone Edge Settings area of your PDG Commerce Cart Administration in Step 3 of the first section). Reenter you Password.

  7. In the Store Code field, enter the Store Code that you received via email from Stone Edge Technologies (the same store code that you plugged into the Stone Edge Settings area of your PDG Commerce Cart Administration in Step 3 of the first section).

  1. Enter the following URL in the Script URL field: www.stoneedge.net/ordpost/orderpost.aspx

  1. Click Save.
