Setting Up a Magento Cart

Note: Support for Magento shopping carts begins with the 5.8XX beta series

Installing the Magento Import Script

  1. Go to the Stone Edge Technologies Software Download Gateway page (www.stoneedge.net/dlgateway). Refer to the email you received from Stone Edge Technologies when you purchased the Order Manager for the required username and password.

  2. Go to the category Other Downloads, locate the MagentoCommerce import script, and click the Download button.

  3. In the File Download window, click Save.

  4. Choose to save the file your Desktop or other location where you can easily find the script. When the download is complete, click Open.

  5. Click Extract all files and go through the Extraction Wizard.

  6. A new window will open showing the unzipped file (folder). This folder contains the magento-import.php script file.

  7. Upload the magento-import.php script file to the root directory of your Magento Cart website. (To help you find your root folder, look for a subfolder named "app". It should exist within the root folder. If you're still unsure where your root directory is, ask your web hosting company.) Copy the magento-import.php file into the root directory folder and close out of your website directory.

Setting Up the Shopping Cart in the Order Manager

Note: If you operate multiple Magento "Store Views," each Magento Store View must be set up as a separate shopping cart in the Order Manager. Therefore you must go through the following steps for each Store View.

  1. In the Order Manager, go to the Shopping Carts screen. You can access it from one of four ways:

  2. The Shopping Carts dialog box opens:

  3. Click Add Cart.

  4. In the Store Name field, enter a name you want to use for this shopping cart. This name is for use in the Order Manager only, but we recommend a descriptive name that clearly identifies the store.

  5. Select MagentoCommerce from the Cart Type drop-down list.

Note: If you are licensed to use only one shopping cart type, you will not see a drop down list in the Cart Type field; Magento will be your default cart type.

  1. In the Cart ID/User Name field, enter the username you use to log into your Magento Admin Panel.

  2. In the Cart Password field, enter the password you use to log into your Magento Admin Panel. If you leave this field blank, you will be prompted to enter your password each time you download orders.

  3. Enter the appropriate Magento Store View Code in the Store Code field. To obtain the Store View Code value, follow these steps:

    1. Log into your Magento Admin Panel. On the top navigation bar, click the System button and select Manage Stores from the drop-down list.

    2. On the Manage Stores page, select the Store View under Store View Name.

  1. In the Script URL field, enter the secure URL to the location of the Magento Import script, which you saved to your website root directory. (Refer to Step 7 of Installing the Import Script, above, for the location of the script.) Type your shopping cart URL, followed by a forward-slash and the name of the script you placed the root directory. For example:

  1. www.mydomain.com/magento-import.php

  2. Note: You do not need to include http:// or https://. The OM will remove these prefixes when you click Save.

  1. Click Save.

  2. Click the Test Script URL button. You should see a message indicating the test passed and the version of the integration script that is installed.
