Using the Order Manager with U-PIC Third-Party Shipping Insurance

Order Manager version 5.008 (Beta) or greater.

 

U-PIC is discounted package insurance for packages shipped via major carriers such as UPS, U.S. Postal Service, FedEx, etc. The package is shipped by the carrier but insured by U-PIC, saving you hundreds, perhaps thousands of dollars every year. For information, please go to www.U-PIC.com.

 

To use the Order Manager with U-PIC, you have to send a report to U-PIC once a month with information about the previous month’s shipments. Once you have it configured, you will see an option on the Maintenance Menu -> Shipping & Fulfillment tab to send a report to U-PIC. The options is also available on the Quick Clicks menu at the Order Manager’s Main Menu.

 

The Order Manager will send the following information to U-PIC for each order that you ship:

 

Carrier (Fedex, UPS, etc.)

Destination Country

Pickup Date

Declared Value

Tracking ID

Shipping Method

 

Your fees with U-PIC will be based on the Declared Value. Shipments with no Declared Value will not be sent to U-PIC.

 

To configure the Order Manager for use with U-PIC, set the system parameter UPICClientID (in the Program parameter group) to the ID provided to you by U-PIC. No other setup is required.
