Shipping Configuration and Rates

On the Shipping Configuration and Rates screen, you select your Shipping Calculation Type (see the list below) and the rates on which you base the cost of shipping for each Shipping Method.

Note: Before you set up the Shipping Configuration and Rates screen, you must complete the Shipping tab in the Store Setup Wizard. On the Shipping tab, you select a default Shipping Rate Calculation Method (called Shipping Calculation Type on the Shipping Configuration and Rates screen) and add all of the Shipping Methods you use, i.e., Ground, Second Day, Next Day, Overnight, etc. If you haven't completed the Shipping tab on the Store Setup Wizard, do that first. See the Shipping Setup article for more information.

    5. Flat Each: Enter a Per Item amount in the Shipping Charge field

    6. Base: Enter a minimum Base Rate amount for each Shipping Method in the Shipping Charge field. For each product, enter a Shipping Charge amount for each Shipping Method. (Scroll down the list to enter amounts for all products listed under each Shipping Method.)

    7. Base Plus: Enter a minimum Base Rate amount for each Shipping Method in the Shipping Charge field. For each product, enter a Shipping Charge amount for each Shipping Method. (Scroll down the list to enter amounts for all products listed under each Shipping Method.)

    8. None: With this option, there is no charge for shipping, so there is nothing to enter.

  4. The rates are effective immediately. You will see the settings in the table in the lower half of the screen.

  5. To delete rates, click on a row in the list and click Delete.

  6. To exit, click Close. The next time you open the Shipping Configuration and Rates screen, it will default to the Shipping Calculation Type that you last set.

Please Note: You must manually update the Shipping Calculation Type that you are using when you (1) add Shipping Methods in the Order Manager OR (2) add new inventory items in the Order Manager AND you are using either the Base or Base Plus Shipping Calculation Type. To update the Shipping Calculation Type, open the Shipping Configuration and Rates screen, select the Shipping Calculation Type and click Save Change to populate the Shipping Method list with the new method or populate the Base Rate or SKU column with new inventory items (in the case of Base or Base Plus). Add necessary shipping charges for the new method or inventory item.
