Quick Ship Shipping System

This article applies to features introduced in version 4.608 BETA.

Quick Ship is designed for merchants who want a quick way to print shipping labels for one or more orders, but do not want to barcode scan or otherwise confirm each item as it is packed. Here are some of the major features of the Quick Ship system:

  1. You can configure it to automatically display a list of all orders with a specified Order Status. Orders that have been cancelled or that are entirely drop shipped or shipped via fulfillment centers will not be included in the list.

  1. Quick Ship supports the Order Manager's integrated shipping software for UPS and FedEx, as well as Dazzle for USPS shipping and ShipRush for both UPS and FedEx shipping. The system parameter, ShippingSystem, must be set to "ShipRush" in order for the Have Shipper Send Email? field to be visible. Checking that box will tell ShipRush to have the appropriate shipping carrier send an email to the customer (UPS, Fed/Ex, DHL).

  1. You can build a list of orders to work with similar to the way you can build a list of orders at the Multi Order Processor by entering criteria in the fields found in the Build List of Orders section of the screen.

  1. You can use a barcode scanner to very quickly display an order, then automatically get the weight from a scale and/or print the shipping label after the order has been packed.

  1. It can be used efficiently as a separate shipping station if packing is done elsewhere.

  1. It can automatically set the status of each order after it is shipped.

  1. Quick Ship does not include a way to tell the Order Manager what items you pack for each order. When you print a shipping label, it assumes that you are packing any items in Quantity Shipped that are not in Quantity Packed.

Here are some examples of ways to use Quick Ship:

Pack and ship without a barcode scanner.
  1. List the orders you want to ship.

  2. Select the first order to pack. The program will list the items that need to be packed.

  3. Pack the order.

  4. If you have an electronic scale, click the scale button to get the actual packed weight.

  5. Click the Print Label button to print your shipping label.

  6. Go on to the next order.

Pack and ship with a barcode scanner.
  1. Scan an order number. It does not matter if that order is in the list yet. If not, it will automatically be added to the list.

  2. Pack the order. Put it on your scale if you have one.

  3. Scan the order a second time. Based on the Second Scan parameters, the program will automatically get the weight from your scale and/or print your shipping label.

Ship pre-packed orders with a barcode scanner.
  1. If you have separate stations for packing and shipping orders, bring your packed orders to your shipping station.

  2. Place an order on your scale.

  3. Scan the barcode once. Based on the First Scan parameters, the program will automatically get the weight from your scale and/or print your shipping label.

In all of the examples above, if there are any problems with an order, the program will not print the label and will tell the operator about the problems. The program will test the following factors:

Ø      Valid order number?

Ø      Is the order cancelled?

Ø      Is it approved?

Ø      Does it already have packing and/or tracking data?

Ø      Is there a balance due on the order?

Ø      Are there any items left to be shipped on the order that are not drop shipped or shipped via a fulfillment center?

Depending on which errors were found, you may or may not be able to print the label anyway.
