Process Tracking Numbers

Tracking numbers can be imported into the Order Manager by

1) a shipping application that uses an Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) connection;

2) importing a comma-delimited or text file; or

3) printing shipping labels using the Order Manager's direct interface with UPS and FedEx.

Note: UPS WorldShip and FedEx ShipManager are two shipping programs that use an ODBC connection. FedEx QuickShip and WindowBook's Postal Package Partner require you to import tracking information via a text file.

After you have imported new tracking numbers into the Order Manager, the Process Tracking Numbers button will appear in the bottom right area of the Maintenance Menu screen.

The Process Tracking Numbers function automatically emails tracking information to customers and sends status updates to your shopping cart and/or the Order Status System. Refer to system parameter ProcessTrackingReviewDays, which controls how far back in time the routine looks for unprocessed tracking numbers.

Some setup is required to email tracking information to your customers automatically. See the Knowledge Base article Sending Batch Email Messages to Customers with New Tracking Numbers for instructions.
