Introduced in Version 3.
Address Validation
Addresses entered or imported into the Order Manager are validated by checking them against an official United States Postal Service (USPS) address database. The addresses are modified automatically to conform to USPS standards. Note: Only addresses in the United States can be validated.
This function requires an open connection to the Internet. Validation is done courtesy of Endicia.com, publishers of the DAZzle program that the Order Manager interfaces with for printing USPS shipping labels (complete with postage and Delivery Confirmation barcodes). There is no charge for using this feature; it is built into the Order Manager.
There are four points in the program at which you can validate mailing addresses:
Validate Addresses While Importing Orders
To validate mailing addresses as orders are imported, set the following system parameters located in the Order parameter group:
VerifyAddressesAtImport: If True, the Order Manager will verify domestic (United States) addresses as orders are imported. This requires an open connection to the Internet. Valid addresses are converted to their official USPS format, including zip codes in the Zip+4 format. Invalid addresses prevent orders from being automatically approved. Validation results are added to the Notes field.
VerifyAddressFormat: Select UPPER CASE to return addresses in ALL UPPER CASE or select Mixed Case to return addresses with Each First Letter Capitalized. VerifyAddressAtImport must be set to True.
VerifyAddToNotes: Select TRUE to store the original and revised addresses in the Notes field. VerifyAddressAtImport must be set to True.
