View Orders

Overview

The View Orders screen is used to view, cancel, approve, or print paperwork (invoices, packing slips, and shipping labels) for imported or manually entered orders. From this screen you can also manage returns, exchanges, and other modifications.

Orders are "Approved" or "Cancelled" as part of the normal processing workflow . When you approve an order, you are telling the Order Manager that the order can be shipped. Approving orders can be done manually or automatically. It is best to approve orders manually until you have a better understanding of the program; however, for more information on that topic, refer to the Knowledge Base article, Approval Rules, and review the following Order group system parameters as well:

The Expected Net and Actual Net fields in the lower left-hand corner of the Pricing tab are controlled by the system parameter ShowNetFigures. Set the parameter to False to hide these fields.

Click the following link to learn more about the Approved/Complete/Cancelled check boxes.

The Show/Hide Kit Parts button is not pictured below, but the label of the button when the View Orders screen is initially opened is determined by the system parameter DefaultShowKitParts.

Scroll the mouse over the image below to locate pop-ups that provide information about the purpose of the field or button. To get more information about the tabs that are not presently visible, click the button below the image that corresponds to that tab.

Screen Functions

Here is a list of some things that you can do at this screen:

Notes:

  1. The use of colors to highlight Order Status (i.e., Approved, Pending, Incomplete, Cancelled), Backorders, and Drop Ship orders fields was introduced in Version 5.9 of the Order Manager. The highlights are controlled by several parameters:

  1. The blue colored tabs on the View Orders screen were introduced in the 5.803 Beta version of the Order Manager. The tab text will be highlighted red if there is something that needs attention, i.e., the order contains a drop-ship item, a note, a comment, or a reason for review.

  2. In the 5.803 Beta version of the Order Manager, the Enter Payment button was split into separate Log Credit and Payment buttons so either function is available at any time. In order for the Edit button to display beside the Log Credit and Payment buttons, you must set the system parameter AllowEditTransactions to True.

  3. The View Item button was added in the Order Manager 5.8XX Beta series. This function is not available if Access 2000 is being used. The same is true of the View/Edit Product button on the Revise Line Item form.
