Introduced in version 4.602 Beta
Each SKU can be discounted depending on how many units the customer purchases. This is referred to as Quantity Pricing.
Quantity Pricing must be defined for each price level, if price levels are enabled. For example, if retail customers buy just one widget it costs them $6.00 but if they purchase 10 widgets, they pay $5.00 each. On the other hand, if wholesale customers buy just one widget it costs them $3.00 but if they purchase 10 widgets, they pay $2.50 each.
Each SKU can have a sale quantity price too, i.e. if the quantity pricing for retail customers who belong to the Outstanding Customer club is $5.00 each when they buy 10 widgets, the sale price might be $3.50 each when they buy 10.
Quantity Pricing is available at the Enter Orders Manually and the Point of Sale (POS) screens. To set up Quantity Pricing for an individual SKU, go to the Main Menu>Maintenance Menu>Inventory and Suppliers tab>Inventory button. The View Inventory dialog box opens. Navigate to the appropriate item record. Click on the Pricing tab. Look at the Quantity Discounts section at the bottom of the screen.

Note: The Price Level drop down list is displayed only if the system parameter UseMultiLevelPricing (Pricing group) is set to True. If necessary, exit the View Inventory screen, go to Set System Parameters and change the setting. Click Save. Enter the names of the pricing levels you wish to use in the PricingLevel1, PricingLevel2, etc. parameters, e.g. Retail, Wholesale. Click Save after entering each name. Click Close to exit the Set System Parameters dialog box. Return to the View Inventory screen.
For each quantity discount, start by entering the Starting Quantity, the Ending Quantity, and the Reg. Price (i.e., the non-sale quantity discount price of each unit). Next, if you wish, click in the On Sale checkbox and enter the Sale Price. Lastly, if price levels are enabled, you must select a price level from the drop down list. For example, in the screen shot above, if a retail customer buys anywhere from 10 to 1,000 widgets, the cost of each widget is $5.00. However, the widget is on sale for members of the Outstanding Customer Club who buy 10 or more so those customers pay $3.50 each.
Click on the Add Discount button to add the quantity discount to the list below. To delete a quantity discount, click on the existing quantity discount that you wish to delete in the list box and then click on the Delete Discount button.
