Microsoft Access 2007 Speed Issues

If serious slowness is encountered while searching for, approving orders or editing addresses at View Orders in Order Manager Version 5.9, check to see if the Microsoft Access 2007 ribbon has been minimized or hidden. Minimizing the ribbon has improved the performance of the program for several of our customers.  Users can select whether or not to hide the ribbon that shows Microsoft Access functions by clicking the down arrow as shown in the image below and checking or un-checking Minimize the Ribbon in the drop-down list.

Microsoft Access Security Issues

Microsoft Access 2007, by default, is installed with a high level of macro security that can interfere with the execution of code in many Access-based applications, such as the Order Manager. To ensure that the Order Manager, Product Manager, or Ecom Assembler will run smoothly with Access 2007,  follow the steps below BEFORE installing the Order Manager or other Stone Edge software!

By taking the following measures, you will avoid a common failure during the installation of the Order Manager, which due to the default macro security setting in Access 2007, causes the installer to "freeze" and a leave a partial installation of the Order Manager.

  1. Once Access is installed on your computer, download Microsoft Service Pack 2 for Office 2007 and follow the instructions within the Microsoft documentation to install the service pack. (This is a large file and takes a few minutes to download.)

  2. Restart your computer after installing the service pack.

  3. Open Microsoft Access. Click the round Windows button in the top left corner.
