Access 2003 Notes

Microsoft Access 2003, by default, is installed with a high level of macro security that can interfere with the execution of code in many Access Applications. To ensure that the Order Manager, Product Manager or Ecom Assembler will run smoothly with Access 2003, follow the steps below BEFORE installing the Order Manager or other Stone Edge software!

  1. If you're using Access 2003, be sure that you have the following Microsoft updates installed:

Note: Microsoft has released a subsequent update for Office 2003, called Office 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3). It is NOT necessary to install this service pack with the Order Manager, however, if you choose to install Office 2003 Service Pack 3 (SP3), you MUST ALSO INSTALL the Access 2003 post-Service Pack 3 Hotfix to avoid Access issues that affect the Order Manager. The 2007 formatted version of the Order Manager program file should also be downloaded and installed if Access 2003 SP3 and KB945674 (hot-fix) are installed.

  1. Restart your PC after installing the updates.

  2. Open Microsoft Access.

  3. Click Tools> Macro> Security.

  1. Close Microsoft Access.

You should now be able to run the Order Manager normally. Note that the first time you run the Order Manager on any Access 2003 system it may take several minutes before the program appears. Please be patient -- it will open! After the first time, the program should open promptly.
