This article applies to version 4.2 or below. If you are using versions 4.3XX beta or above, go to QuickBooks Export V4.4 and Above.
After you complete the instructions in Accounting Export Setup V4.2 and Below, you can export data to QuickBooks as often as you wish. Some merchants do it daily, weekly or monthly.
There are several methods that you can use to export the data:
Export the data to an .IIF file from the QuickBooks Export dialog box. The .IIF file is saved to your Stone Edge directory.
Export the data to a simple text file from the QuickBooks Export dialog box. The text file is saved to your Stone Edge directory. (Available in version 4.3 Beta).
Export the data via XML API which writes the data to QuickBooks almost immediately. (Available in version 4.3 Beta).
This article outlines how to export sales and deposit data to an .IIF file.
Set System Parameter
To indicate which type of export you wish to use, go to the AccountingApplication system parameter (Program group). If you have already performed an export to QuickBooks, the system defaults to "QuickBooks .iif" files; otherwise the system defaults to "None").

A calendar with the heading Export all new history and transactions thru: opens . Select a date on the calendar and click OK. Data is exported for approved transactions up to and including the date you select.
Note: The Order Manager does not collect sales data in the format necessary for export to QuickBooks until you turn on the Export sales data to QuickBooks option on the Setup Information tab of the Accounting Export Setup dialog box. Currently, there is no way to export data collected prior to activating this option.
If it is the first time you are exporting Deposit information, the calendar form will appear a second time with the heading "Select starting date for exporting Transaction".
Note: It is possible to export deposit data stored prior to turning on the Export Deposits to QuickBooks option on the Setup Information tab of the Accounting Export Setup dialog box because the data is collected from the Transactions table. The first time you export deposits to QuickBooks, the Order Manager asks for a starting date. It then exports all deposit data from that date forward, up to and including the "export history and transactions thru" date you select.
The Order Manager exports the data to the text file specified on the Accounting Export Setup form.
To review the data before you import it into QuickBooks, open the text file in an application that allows you to view the contents of text files such as Wordpad or MS Excel.
When you are ready to import the data in the text file into QuickBooks, go to File>Utilities>Import> Import IIF Files from the QuickBooks menu bar and select the file that contains your sales or deposit data.
