MAINTENANCE OUTAGE RESCHEDULED!

The maintenance outage originally scheduled for August 18th has been re-scheduled for next Wednesday, August 25, 2010. In case you missed it, the email below explains the reasons for the outage and how it might affect you.

==============================================================

This is an important notice for all merchants who use the Stone Edge Order Manager along with Yahoo shopping carts and our Real Time Order delivery and/or Real Time Inventory systems.

Our order delivery and real-time inventory services for Yahoo merchants have been re-designed to ensure compliance with new credit card security standards and to improve their performance and reliability. Upgrading our systems will require a maintenance outage of approximately one hour on Wednesday, August 25th, between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM Eastern Time. During that time, order delivery will be delayed and merchants may not be able to import orders from their Yahoo stores into the Order Manager. Likewise, there will be some sporadic unavailability of real-time inventory requests from your Yahoo store to Stone Edge’s servers. We expect both systems to return to full operation by the conclusion of the maintenance window, at which time any delayed orders will be delivered and real-time inventory requests will be handled properly. We have scheduled the work for that time so we will have a full support staff available to handle any problems that might arise once the work is completed.

No changes are necessary in your shopping cart or the Order Manager. Any issues experienced after maintenance has concluded should be reported to our technical support team, either via e-mail (support@stoneedge.com) or telephone (610-994-3699 x2).

For now, the new systems should work exactly like the previous systems. Once Order Manager Version 6 is released, the new system will be able to operate in a PA-DSS compliant mode that will be required for your own PCI compliance. We will release more information about that as it becomes available.

Thank you, and our apologies for any inconvenience that this short outage may cause you.

Scheduled Maintenance Outage 6/1/10

There will be a scheduled maintenance outage for the Stone Edge Technologies servers on Tuesday June 1st, between 6:00 -7:00 AM Eastern Daylight Savings Time, to replace our aging servers with newer, faster servers, for the purpose of providing better service to our customers. We apologize for any inconvenience this outage may cause you. The affected services include:

Extent of Outage and Required Actions

Altura and Yahoo Order Delivery – no action needed.

Orders that were placed while the server is down will be delivered as normal when the server is back up.

Yahoo Real-Time Inventory – complete outage.

Yahoo will not be able to determine quantity on hand while the service is down. Depending on your settings in Yahoo, orders may be prevented or allowed to go through. If allowed through, this potentially allows for over sale of stock.

Order Status System – partial outage.

“Check your status” will be unavailable during this period. The Order Manager’s stack controller is designed to deal with server outages, so updates sent during this period will be queued and resent when the server is back up.

Cart32 and PDG Commerce Order Delivery – complete outage.

Orders placed during the outage will not be delivered to the server at all. Delivery is not reattempted by Cart32 and PDG Commerce, so you will have to manually enter any orders missed during the outage window.
