New Stone Edge
Partnership With Shipwire.Com Offers Unique, Affordable E-Commerce Solutions For
Small Businesses
BLUE BELL, PA –
May 22, 2007 – Stone Edge Technologies, Inc. has announced a unique
partnership with Shipwire.com that will make it easier than ever for small
business merchants who use the Stone Edge Order Manager, Version Five, to
streamline their operations.
The Stone Edge
Order Manager, which began seven years ago as a simple program for importing
orders and printing invoices and packing slips, has grown into a comprehensive
tool for e-commerce business management. Today it is used by nearly 2,000
merchants to automate and streamline operations. Order Manager’s Version Five
includes a new POS system that acts as a virtual cash register for merchants who
sell to walk-in customers. This system pulls products from the same inventory
that the Order Manager uses for Web and phone sales, and with some shopping cart
systems can also automatically update the quantity-on-hand in Web stores when
POS sales are made. The system works with a wide range of POS hardware,
including touch screens and pole displays, and supports store credits, layaway
and “card present” credit card transactions. It is included in the Order
Manager’s “Plus POS” and Enterprise versions.
Shipwire.com, a
fulfillment service for small businesses, is an easy way for merchants to
quickly outsource the entire process of receiving, warehousing and shipping
merchandise. It offers quick set-up and “hands-off” administration, enabling
someone without training to configure an account and have it fully operational
in less than 15 minutes. Afterwards, it is simply a matter of sending
merchandise in bulk to Shipwire.com, customers shopping on the merchant’s
Website, and Shipwire.com packing and shipping each order.
Now, as part of
this new partnership, merchants can instantly benefit from all the shipping
capabilities of Stone Edge and Shipwire.com, reducing the time spent managing
inventory and fulfilling customer orders, and spending more time on sales,
marketing and expanding the business.
“Most merchants
are strapped for time, and experience ups and downs when it comes to expanding
their business and reducing costs,” said Damon Schechter, CEO of Shipwire.com,
and author of the best-seller Delivering the Goods. “Now that the Stone Edge
Order Manager works seamlessly with Shipwire.com, a small business can easily
and quickly add a new sales channel to their business, such as eBay auctions,
and arrange to have inventory sent directly to Shipwire warehouses and on to
customers.”
In addition to
automatically sending fulfillment orders to Shipwire.com, the new version of the
Order Manager can import shipment tracking data for emails and customer lookups,
and can automatically synchronize inventory information.
Matthew Kearney,
CEO, ALK Marketing, Inc., said the Stone Edge/Shipwire partnership has allowed
him to help his client, ewatchbox.com, focus more on expanding their business.
“We use both Stone Edge and Shipwire.com together to help us process orders.
This has allowed us to streamline the order management and fulfillment process
without hiring additional staff,” said Mr. Kearney. “Using the two companies
together is extremely easy, as all the integration is already done and
ready....we just simply had to change a few settings and we were ready to go.”
Kearney added that
if he were to use another fulfillment company, there would likely be significant
set-up costs to get everything integrated. “By using Stone Edge and Shipwire.com
together, we have saved ewatchbox.com both time and money.”
Other new features
in Stone Edge’s Order Manager Version Five include support for more shopping
cart systems, including 3DCart, Modular Merchant, eBay ProStores and PDG Cart,
and additional credit card gateways, including CyberSource, LinkPoint and
QuickBooks Merchant Services. There is also an enhanced RMA system for managing
returns and exchanges, and numerous improvements in the “Manual Orders” screen
where phone, fax and mail orders are entered.
Order Manager
Version Five is currently available from www.stoneedge.com. Prices begin at
$1,500 for the Standard Version, including five workstation licenses and
extended support.
