Stone Edge Order Manager Upgraded with New Shipping & POS Features
Leading Business Management Program for Small to Medium Web Retailers

Blue Bell, PA (5/7/2007) – Stone Edge Technologies, Inc. today announced the immediate availability of an upgraded version of the Stone Edge Order Manager, the leading business management program for small to medium Web retailers. The Order Manager, which began seven years ago as a simple program for importing orders and printing invoices and packing slips, has grown into a comprehensive tool for e-commerce business management. Today it is used by nearly 2,000 merchants to automate and streamline their operations.

The Stone Edge Order Manager can import orders from about 30 shopping cart systems including MonsterCommerce, Cart32 and osCommerce, as well as other sales channels including Amazon, eBay and Shop.com. It also handles orders from a built-in point-of-sale system and those that arrive via mail, fax or email. It tracks inventory, processes payments, helps with picking, packing and shipping, and otherwise simplifies the process of running a small online business.

The new Order Manager Version Five adds major upgrades to the application’s shipping functionality, including a “Quick Ship” system for rapidly printing UPS, Fedex and USPS shipping labels, It also offers additional support for electronic shipping scales and other enhancements to the “Pack and Ship” system, which virtually eliminates packing errors by using a barcode scanner to confirm each item as it is packed. If a packer scans something that doesn’t belong in the current order or tries to close and ship a box with something missing, the Order Manager flags the problem.

The upgrade also includes a new POS system that acts as a virtual cash register for merchants who sell to walk-in customers. This system pulls products from the same inventory that the Order Manager uses for Web and phone sales, and with some shopping cart systems can also automatically update the quantity-on-hand in Web stores when POS sales are made. The system works with a wide range of POS hardware, including touch screens and pole displays, and supports store credits, layaway and “card present” credit card transactions.  It is included in the Order Manager’s “Plus POS” and Enterprise versions.

Other new features in Order Manager Version Five include support for more shopping cart systems, including 3DCart, Modular Merchant, eBay ProStores and PDG Cart, and additional credit card gateways, including CyberSource, LinkPoint and QuickBooks Merchant Services. There is also an enhanced RMA system for managing returns and exchanges, and numerous improvements in the “Manual Orders” screen where phone, fax and mail orders are entered.

Order Manager Version Five is available immediately from www.stoneedge.com,  Prices begin at $1,500 for the Standard Version, including five workstation licenses and extended support.
